David Smyth
Swansway Group

David is a main board director of Swansway Motor Group, one of the top 5 privately-owned motor groups in the UK. The business is family-owned and run with David’s father, Michael Smyth, Chairman and his brothers, John and Peter, who are main board members along with David. Swansway Motor Group was formed in 2003, following the sale of the family’s previous motor business, the RRG Group. Prior to this David had owned and operated a number of profitable service stations, which he sold, enabling him to join the family business and use his degree in Building Management; he now looks after the construction and property side of the business, with special interest in the company’s charitable outreach.

Daniel Gregorious
Head of Sales & Marketing

Daniel joined MG 12 months ago after stints at Kia and Renault. During 2018 he led MG to its biggest year since the brand returned to the market in 2008. With a strategy of delivering the best value cars money can buy, MG is the fastest growing car brand in the UK. One key goal is to continue the network evolution which has seen the franchise expand to 84 sites with a good balance between owner-drivers and regional groups. Product development is also vital and in 2018 MG will launch two new SUVs including the brand’s first battery electric car.

Catherine Faiers
Operations Director
Auto Trader Group plc

Catherine Faiers is the Operations Director at Auto Trader and is jointly responsible for the day-to-day operations of the business. She is also focused on guiding the company’s strategy and development. Catherine was previously Chief Operating Officer at Addison Lee where she had responsibility for all aspects of operations with a team of over 750 employees, management of the base of 5,500 driver partners, fleet logistics and customer operations. Catherine graduated from the University of Durham with a BA in Economics and is a qualified Chartered Accountant. She is also a mentor for female Entrepreneurs at ALT and the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women.

Al Clarke
Programme Chairman
Al has held senior executive roles with Ferrari, Maserati and the SMMT. Al started his career as a journalist and presenter with a decade working for the BBC and in commercial radio. He has a particular interest in the application of digital technology and connected car services in the automotive industry and regularly speaks at, and chairs events on, these issues.
