Jason has responsibility for the ongoing development of Jardine’s group processes and innovations to ensure readiness for future consumer demands. Jardine Motors represent 20 of the leading premium and luxury automotive brands in 70 locations across the UK. Previously, Jason was head of customer quality & network development for Audi UK. During his time, he lead Audi to record levels of customer satisfaction, network satisfaction and dealer profitability by implementing sustainable programmes for customer centricity that complimented Audi’s ambition for volume growth and market leadership. Leaving school, Jason started his retail career with John Lewis before joining the motor trade in 1989 as a Trainee Sales Executive.
Ian Rutter, Managing Director, CJ Automotive
Ian started out as a motor vehicle technician with Lookers before owning his first Nissan business, which he later sold to Arnold Clark, in Liverpool. Ian went on to build CJ Automotive Ltd with the help of the Volkswagen group sponsored retail programme into a 17 dealership group with a turnover of over 220 million, over a 12 year period. The majority of the business was sold to Sytner in 2016 while retaining 1 Skoda dealership in Warrington trading under the Lightcliffe name and some Volkswagen group TPS businesses. He now has various companies over various industries including motor trade, property, house building, Technology and Education.
Nick King, Retailer Insight Director, Auto Trader
Expert in digital media and marketing, possessing the experience to analyse and interpret trends in consumer adoption of technology and develop strategies for customer acquisition and retention through digital and traditional offline channels.
Al Clarke, Programme Chairman
Al has held senior executive roles with Ferrari, Maserati and the SMMT. Al started his career as a journalist and presenter with a decade working for the BBC and in commercial radio. He has a particular interest in the application of digital technology and connected car services in the automotive industry and regularly speaks at, and chairs events on, these issues.
